The Bulletin of  Basrah Natural History Museum is an international electronic peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the highest standards of publication ethics. In order to provide our readers with a high-quality journal, we have established the following Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement guidelines.

1- If malpractice is discovered at any time after publication, all articles that do not meet these standards will be deleted from publication.
2- All publications are checked in a double-blind peer review process by the Bulletin of Basrah Natural History Museum.
3- Plagiarism, research fabrication (making up research data), falsification (modification of existing research data, tables, or images), and the improper use of humans or animals in study are all things we look for.
4- We shall report any suspected plagiarism or duplicate publishing in accordance with the code of conduct. At any time, our journal maintains the right to screen submitted papers using plagiarism detection technologies.

Authors must make certain that:

Original works have been written.
1- The manuscript has never been published before.
2- Any other writers’, contributors’, or sources’ work or words should be properly credited and referenced.
3- Before submitting the article, the authors are also responsible for language correction.
4- By submitting their work to the journal for publication as an original piece, authors affirm that the material submitted represents their contributions and has not been plagiarized in whole or in part from other publications without explicit citation.
5- Other writers’, contributors’, or sources’ work (including web sites) should be properly credited and mentioned.
6- Declare any financial or other conflicts of interest that might affect their manuscript’s results or interpretation (financial support for the project should be disclosed).
7- When an author discovers a serious error or inaccuracy in his or her own published work, it is the author’s responsibility to contact the journal editor as soon as possible and collaborate with the editor in having the manuscript retracted or corrected.
8- Before submitting the paper, the author accepts the license agreement.
9- It is against publication ethics to submit an article to more than one journal at the same time.
10- Copyright and an animal welfare declaration are necessary and should be attached to the paper when it is submitted.

Editors must make certain that:

1- A fair, double-blind peer review of the articles that have been submitted for publication.
2- Make every effort to avoid any potential conflicts of interest between the author and the editorial or review staff.
3- Before publication, all information linked to submitted papers is treated as confidential.
4- The work of the editors will be coordinated by the Editor-in-Chief.

Reviewers must make certain that:

1- Examine manuscripts based on their substance rather than the writers’ ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, religious beliefs, or political philosophy.
2- All information about submitted manuscripts is kept private, and editors must notify the Editor-in-Chief if they become aware of copyright infringement or plagiarism on the author’s part.
3- Evaluate the submitted works objectively and express their thoughts on the works in a clear and concise manner in the review form.
4- If a reviewer feels unqualified to examine the research contained in a manuscript or believes that timely review is impossible, he or she should tell the Editor-in-Chief and withdraw from the review process.
